An Italian-style 4vo album (378 x 282 mm). -------------------------------------------- Binding from the time of full leather and glazed ebony shagreen, double fat and thin golden fillet framing the dishes; furthermore embellished with interlacing of cold fat fillets forming moucharabieh, golden figure in the center of the first cover, smooth back decorated with double golden fat and thin fillets, golden edges, golden interior lace. Collection comprising 50 negatives printed on albumen paper (made circa 1880) in various formats (992 x 245 to 147 x 108 mm). Some photographs are captioned in the plate and signed GWW (George Washington Wilson), WL or JV (James Valentine). ''British photographer, George W. Wilson was one of the pioneers of mass production of traveler's views during the period of rapid growth of tourism in Scotland in the second half of the 19th century''. (in Herschdorfer).
