Rare representation in bronze of the goddess Athena (Minerva) enthroned in majesty in its original frame in Yellow marble from Siena on a peach blossom marble.
the bronze medallion in high relief represents the seated goddess wearing a helmet and holding her shield.
This bronze is directly inspired by representations of the goddess in antiquity.
the details are very finely executed and this bronze has very beautiful remains of gilding.
the medallion is fixed on its original frame in yellow Siena marble mounted with a miter cut, itself fixed on a peach blossom marble base. a beautiful bronze fixing ring completes the set and thus allows serious hanging because the set is very heavy.
A very beautiful work from the end of the 19th century.
