Exceptional bronze of the largest size by Auguste CLESINGER representing the famous oriental dancer ZINGARA on the tambourine signed on the tree trunk and located in ROME with COLAS mechanical reduction stamp and BARBEDIENNE foundry mark on the terrace. Superb original patina, this artist made his debut at the Salon des Beaux Arts in Paris in 1843 and was the son-in-law of Gorge SAND and Frédéric CHOPIN. Many of these works are in major French and foreign collections and museums, including the Petit Palais in Paris and the Musée d'Orsay.
