Charming octagonal smoked crystal box with an Art Deco vermeil mount.This small box whose body is in smoked crystal is of octagonal section, the base and the lid are with cut sides.
The lid is hinged with a molded gold-plated solid silver mount.
The very geometric cut sides of the crystal and the rectilinear moldings of the frame are typical of the Art Deco style.
The frame is hallmarked:
. Boar's head for solid French silver
. Goldsmith hallmark: GB with a fleur-de-lys for Gaston Bardiès, active between 1897 and 1914.
Superb box of very good quality, the vermeil frame is thick and perfectly adjusted, the smoked crystal gives it a vintage look, very innovative for the time.
