Nineteenth Pajot Obstetric Forceps.

"Pajot" obstetric forceps, manufactured by Charriere of Paris, mid-19th century around 1850/60. In used condition. Length 44cm. -Professor Pajot (1816-1896) was born in Paris, studied medicine at the Faculty of Paris and obtained his diploma in 1842. He was appointed professor of obstetrics in 1862, after having been a lecturer with the wise men -women at the clinic for ten years and having assisted professors Moreau and Paul Dubois. As a practical obstetrician he was almost unrivaled in France and was made an honorary member of the Obstetrical Society of London.
