The box is fiddle-shaped, the lid and the front face are inlaid. It rests on four brass top legs.
The lid is decorated with rich interlacing formed of a wood marquetry using the frisage technique, separated by threads of brass and threads of resins, or gums, iridescent and white.
A central cartouche is engraved in the center with a baron's tortil and the number AD (?)
The front face is also inlaid as a reminder of the lid.
Large brass nets underline the base and the rim of the lid.
The lock, with its key, is functional but it is not possible to activate it when the box is closed because the wood has played and there is a gap of a few millimeters on the front, between the box and its lid.
The interior is sheathed in a beige moiré fabric.
This chest is a very beautiful achievement thanks to its harmonious curved shapes and its rich intertwined marquetry.
