Jean Louis Marcel Cosson (1878-1956), the painter's studio Oil on cardboard depicting the interior of an artist's studio with a plaster sculpture of a man, a still life with fruit on an easel and a painting landscape on a stool. Signed lower left in red "Cosson". Titled on the back. Good condition. Around 1900. 26 x 33 cm (without frame) Born in 1878 in Bordeaux. Died in 1956 in Paris. 20th century, Marcel Cosson is a French Post-Impressionist painter. He first exhibited at the Salon of French Artists in Paris, of which he became a member, honorable mention in 1901, third medal in 1911, then at the Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts and that of the Tuileries. He often dealt with subjects of opera, ballets, circus. He was a painter of women, of Parisian life, of the world of dance, of theatre. (ref. Bénézit)
