Large red dish by Marcel Guillot stamped signature under the base "Guillot Marcel ceramist Paris France". Beautiful research at the level of the enamel very beautiful rendering. GUILLOT Marcel 1910-1985 Studied at the School of Applied Arts in Industry, where he became friends with Pierre Fouquet. He spent some time at the Manufacture de Sèvres, then opened his workshop in Paris, starting with an electric oven, something still rare at the time. Then he moved to St-Maur des Fossés. After the war, he was responsible, with Pol Chambost, for organizing the first Salon des Céramistes d'art de France, in 1949, at La Maison de la Chimie, with 59 exhibitors. This show will become the Salon des Ateliers d'Art de France, and Marcel Guillot will be its president for a long time, before Jacques Blin. He participates in many exhibitions for his ceramics but also for his painting. He employs about thirty employees in his workshop, and produces series pieces, but also stoneware.
