He was a pupil of Antoine Guillemet. He exhibited at the Paris Salon, from 1879, then Salon des Artistes Français. He obtained a third class medal in 1888, a bronze medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1889. He mainly painted views of the banks of the Oise and Paris.
