Old Book: Secrets For Dyeing Immortelle Flower In Various Colors 1690 Rare

At Charles de Sercy in Paris, 1690 – First edition of this very rare little work designed to make “pastes of different very pleasant smells, and to counterfeit natural marble, suitable for all kinds of figured works”. The book is therefore related to various disciplines ranging from botany to chemistry and perfumery.
The work is anonymous although the initials FLDTR are used to designate its author, this one is obviously not identified in the bibliographies.
Period binding in full vellum, slightly soiled, mute spine with 4 raised bands, fresh and well-preserved interior, traces of old brown waterstaining on the first and last flyleaves, not affecting the body of the book in any way, to be noted that the inside covers are very richly annotated in pen with a writing that is probably contemporary with the book, providing interesting advice for the cultivation of the immortelle flower, among other things.
A book written in a simple and clear style, providing step-by-step explanations to reveal each of the secrets of the Immortelle flower.
