Exceptional pair of art deco vases circa 1910, last period of François Théodore LEGRAS 1839-1916. Acid-etched art deco patterns with marmoreal effects, tone combining snow-effect background and chestnut-tone decorations. Very good state. Height: 43.5cm. Base 10 cm, Diameter bulge: 17.5 cm. LEGRAS manages the largest glass factory in France with nearly 1,400 workers and 150 decorative artists. He received awards and medals in particular at the Barcelona International Exhibition of 1888. He was awarded a grand prize at the Universal Exhibition of 1900, the height of Art Nouveau, in Paris. Rarity of pieces, quality of work, attention to detail and recent research, increase interest in LEGRAS glassware prized by collectors around the world.
