"Directoire Period Sloping Front Desk Late 18th Century"

Walnut sloping desk from the Directoire period, France, Late 18th century, Circa 1790-1800, opening with three drawers in front and a flap revealing 4 small drawers, including a secret drawer. With its functional lock and key, and its fawn leather with some ink stains. Nice desk of space-saving size, with a light honey-colored walnut color, waxed and treated by our cabinetmaker. Minimal use restorations, including a left rear foot consolidated from below with a bracket (see photo)
