This engraving is the thirteenth in the series of twenty "Nova Reperta" drawn by Jan Van Der Straet dit Johannes Stradanus (1523-1605) which constitutes the encyclopedia of the most important discoveries of the time. This engraving was engraved and published by Philip Galle around 1591. Note two small defects in the margins and some foxing.
