Tabriz rug in hand-knotted kork wool from Iran and measuring 165 cm wide x 288 cm long, circa 1960.
This rug is in very good condition, the soft and finely knotted kork wool makes it a real iron rug, knotted admirably tight, this wool reveals a decor of shades full of contrasts.
The decoration consists of an important and beautiful decoration of thirty Botehs in inverted lines, placed on a midnight blue field surrounded by abundantly worked borders of numerous rosettes.
These shades underline this skilful floral design in the great tradition of Persian art, inspired by the miniatures of the school of Tabriz, then capital of the Persian Empire.
The fringes are clean, short and finish this carpet of very good quality.
# The kork wool is the softest of the wools, taken from under the belly and under the neck of the lambs, during the first shearing.
This carpet dates from the 1960s, is in perfect condition.
This piece would make a great office decor.
