Object description :

"Anatolian, 103 Cm X 148 Cm, Hand-knotted Wool On Wool Around 1950 In Turkey, In Superb Condition"
Magnificent Anatolian in wool on wool hand knotted around 1950 measuring 103 cm by 148 cm long in superb condition.
This beautiful carpet has the particularity of a double mihrab, to which two meanings can be attributed:
The first symbolic, indicates that whoever sets foot on this carpet benefits from the right of asylum and enjoys thanks to this double mihrab, named in Turkish "odchaklyk" of the protection of the master of the place, personal protection of the master of the house.
The second meaning is the use of the carpet in both directions, practical use in the case of prayer.
Note the two very decorated plates, and the important colored decoration of the borders.
The changes of wool, the colors show us the true village soul of this piece knotted by women, for trade or for their personal use, home, wedding .... These rural carpets, knotted by village women are still full of fantasy and liveliness.
These are house rugs and not shop rugs. The carefully spun wool is always of very good quality, soft and fine, the patterns have been there since the dawn of time. For this model we feel somewhat the Caucasian influence, in the borders, an influence transmitted with a certain naivety.
This rug has been professionally and environmentally cleaned. ## I have a great passion for these unpretentious rugs but which have a sparkle, a liveliness that can only be found in Anatolia but also in ancient Berber rugs from the Maghreb.
Rugs for the floor, but also rugs for the wall, these pieces are works of modern art tied by Anatolian women who are often illiterate, but from where art flows from their fingers.
