"Bronze Monkey From Vienna 19th"
Large 19th century Viennese bronze representing a crouching monkey; with his right hand he scratches his thigh and his left arm is resting on the knee while his tail unrolls behind him in a rounded shape. He raises his head and looks away intently. The beautifully chiseled sculpture is very expressive; it resumes a habitual attitude in plantigrades particularly well rendered by the artist. This interesting animal bronze is signed Geschützt on the belly. H: 10.8cm W: 5.8cm Good condition.
