This piece measures 111 cm x 165 cm The velvet is worked in relief according to the colors, Ottoman Empire (Turkey) from the second half of the 19th century, Anatolian work.
Decor composed of a long central medallion, old gold and midnight blue on a red background, inspired by Oushaks rugs with a central medallion decorated with a wide variety of patterns.
The set is taken in four two-tone spandrels, red and blue with flower streaks and surrounded by a wide old gold and beige border strewn with many patterns, and also with flowers.
Knotted in wool with the addition of silk, we owe this rug to the work of nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes, the kutayas.
They are followers of totally geometric stylistic designs and the use of colors whose arrangement is particularly harmonious.
These carpets are still knotted in the villages but also in larger "cooperative" type workshops for woolen carpets.
The colors regularly used are blue, red, cream and a hint of curry yellow.
The set makes up a high quality rug, of a fine model, uncommon in good condition, for amateurs.
Dimensions: Width: 111 cm (44") x Length: 165 cm (65") A thin and very elegant rug.
This rug has been professionally and ecologically cleaned.
