"Crest Gelede Yoruba Nago Nigeria"
This is an ancient Gelede Yoruba crest mask. This surprising face with its 2 vampire canines, eyes wide open, carrying on the back a character who stands clinging to the 2 horns! It has a significant old patina of use, a horn is re-nailed and part of the bottom of the right side repaired (see photo 6). Visibly old, it comes from the estate of a doctor, Dr Aubes, collected during his stay in Africa. Postage 12 €.
