STECK Paul Albert (1866-1924) pseudonym of Paul Albert DUGAS
Pupil of Gemme, Member of French Artists since 1896.
He received an honorable mention in 1895, a third class medal in 1896, a travel grant in 1896, a bronze medal in 1900 at the Universal Exhibition.
He often painted Venice during his career. We also find in the museum of Dieppe Conquering Venice and four watercolors. Many French museums have works by the painter.
His style evolves throughout his career: his historical paintings are quite academic, some subjects are treated in more symbolistic ways and others painted on the ground are descriptive with a nice lively touch.
