Spain, so-called apologetic sword dated 1787 on the blade, 18th century. Leather scabbard with 2 fittings, the yoke button bearing the arms of Ferdinand of Castile and Leon. Probably shortened sword with iron frame whose spindle is fluted and pommel with rivet. Tray with 2 iron bridges and donkey ring. Blade with central fuller and 2 cutting edges for thrusting or slashing. Gutters on both sides bearing inscriptions: "RL. FA. D. TOLO. A° 1787" and on the other side: "AGUSTIN VAZQUEZ". Coat of arms on the yoke of the scabbard with the arms of CASTILE and LEON: (2 towers and 2 lions surmounted by a crown).
