Myth Of Argos Painting flag

Object description :

"Myth Of Argos Painting"
Large format oil painting on canvas. The painting represents the myth of Argos: "Argos, who was endowed with a hundred eyes and had been charged by Juno to watch over Io, the beautiful nymph whom the goddess had changed into a cow in order to escape the harassment of Jupiter, her husband . Knowing of the scheme, he sent Mercury to eliminate Argus and steal the animal". Painted in the 17th century, the scene has a lot of charm and represents the moment when Mercury approaches Argos while sleeping in the shade of a tree. The painting has been restored, varnished and relined. It is currently in perfect condition and framed.
