Interesting folding portable dressing table. Front door with exterior lock, interior drawers and raised mirror. The dressing table is made of wood covered in hand-painted brown, black and gold lacquer, including the maki-e technique of dusting the lacquer with metal powder while still wet. The upper part of the box is also decorated using the Japanese technique of inlaying very thin mother-of-pearl strips. The different decorations on all sides represent the sea with boats, birds, butterflies, flowers or mountains.

Relatively good condition, slight rubbing, losses and cracks. Complete lock, with key, in working order.
