Large 18th C. Cage Chandelier In Gilt Bronze And Crystal, Louis XV Period

A fabulous & unique gilt bronze cage French chandelier.
With 6 candle arms, 3 between arms and 3 cage arms.
On the cage arms and between arms there are poignards.The cage arms are decorated with large flower rosettes.
In the centre there is a vase with an extra poignard.
All scrolled arms has numbers who are corresponding with the central plate- ‚Entablement’ . This is characteristic for the 18th century.
The chandelier is reachly festooned with stars, jasminds, facetted drops and pendants 'Cristal de Bohême’
Above the cage there are decorative vases to cover the stam.
The crown ‚Coroune’ with 12 arms, decorated with stars, flower and crystals 'Crystal de Bohême’.
Below the chandelier is a large facetted bol.
Place of origin- France, private chateau
Period- mid. 18th c.

The chandelier is restored - cleaned, rewired, the crystals are given a new brass wire. The chandelier was originally made for candles, later it was electrified. We only renewed the wiring. The chandelier is rewired without drilling the cups.
