A pearl necklace with a diamond in the middle indicates her rather high social status as a bourgeois. The portrait is signed and dated "Labru fecit 1822" No information was found on this painter. The painting, an oil on canvas, has undergone some small restorations during its bicentenary life: The 3 small patches on the back bear witness to this. Its general condition is good to very good.
