- Cylindrical thimble case with its reel and its needle holder in painted representing in a polychrome miniature medallion the goddess Athena draped in the antique style leaning on a pedestal table with a spear in his right hand and his adopted son holding in his right hand a sphere. - The case is decorated with a decoration of olive leaves, an olive oil jar in a medallion and a bouquet of roses on the top of the case cap and a black rectangular line decorated with gold arabesques on a black background and with olive leaves on a white background. - Several painted symbols are on this case belonging to the goddess Athena, the antique drapery, the spear, the olive leaves, the olive oil jar, and the Sphere held by her adopted son. - The goddess Athena is the patron saint of weavers and embroiderers. - The case unscrews to be able to place the thimble on the top of the reel revealing the reel, it is pulled from the case and has three thread spools one behind the other, on the top of the reel tip unscrews and reveals the compartment where the needles are placed. - The thimble is sold separately on proantic. - Charles X period around 1825-1830.
