"Old Pair Of Pillowcases Embroidered With Days And Inlays In Linen Art Nouveau Art Déco Period Old Linen"
Very nice pair of Art Nouveau pillowcases at the turn of the Art Deco period, entirely hand-embroidered on a linen thread canvas. Beautiful work of openwork and needle inlays: 2 simple openwork followed towards the center by a large complex openwork 3 cm wide richly embroidered then a single openwork. At each corner an inlaid rosette. This is a real pair of pillowcases, which is particularly rare, with the richly embroidered MT monogram at the right corner on one, at the left corner on the other which measures 5.5 cm x 5.5cm. They close with 5 small mother-of-pearl buttons. The opening, hemmed by hands, is held at each end by two small flanges. Provenance: A great champagne house... Dimensions: 75 cm x 75 cm including the flat steering wheel of approximately 5 cm Very good condition. Small spacing of wires near a flange (see photo). Magnificent and rare in "real" pair and very typical Art Nouveau / Art Deco thanks to the rich embroidery of their monogram! For a splendid highlight, use colored pillowcases to bring out the rich and fine embroidery of the broad daylight!
