Lino SABATINI (1925-2016)
A self-taught artist who worked with various materials and goldsmithing techniques. His meeting with Gio Ponti was crucial. Ponti encouraged his design creations, which brought him international recognition.
From 1956 to 1963, he was director of the Design Orfèvrerie department at Christofle in Paris.
His signature can be found on elegant tableware: cutlery, bougroirs, vases and sculptures whose innovative aesthetics are a blend of modernism and minimalism.
Awards: Milan Triennale, Gold Medal (1971) and Gold Compass (1979) at the Mostra Internationale del Arredamento in Monza.
