Born November 17, 1847, in Ars (Charente-Maritime). Died in 1925 in Paris. xtxe-xxe centuries. French.

Painter of landscapes, seascapes, draftsman, illustrator. Pupil of Jules Noël. H debuted at the Paris Salon in 1874. He was appointed official painter to the French Navy and made a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in 1895.

As a correspondent for Le Monde illustre, he painted scenes from Africa, Oceania, Indochina and Canada, as well as numerous sites along the coasts of Brittany and Normandy.
