EARLY ARTS-AFRICAN ART-FOLK ART-ETHNOGRAPHY-CURIOSA RITUAL MASK SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA WOOD-PIGMENTS-SAND CIRCA 1920-1930 Astonishing African ritual mask, very powerful presence, telluric which evokes the man of origins, modeled with mud ; it is in carved wood, with application on the entire external surface, of a mixture of sand and yellow/red ocher pigments. Very expressive figure, with a strong and straight nose, pronounced mouth, highlighted arches, adding depth to the gaze, possibly disturbing depending on the angle of view. Hanging holes.
