Screen with sliding frame from the Louis XV period in gilded wood. Of large dimensions, this interesting screen dating from the 18th century is a work of quality carpentry made of molded walnut, in a contoured shape it is adorned with beautiful sculpture on both sides, the Louis XV decoration has reeds that run through and underline the shape. of the frame, stylized shells in the pediment, florets that adorn the bottoms of the molding and staples, still rockery, that are attached to the bottom crosspieces. The base is particularly aesthetic and moreover successful with beautiful curves and a nice nervousness finished by windings. The frame carried by this base serves as a case for a sliding frame lined with very elegant silk inspired by a Louis XV period model. This screen is a Parisian work that must be placed around the 1760s, the gilding is old but later it shows some wear mainly on the base, the silk is in very good condition. A very similar model from the old Bensimon collection went on sale on April 8, 2005, under lot number 369, this screen also had almost identical silk., photo attached.
