Born in Paris, Liane Le Masson (1925 – 2019) spent her childhood in Morocco in a family of 4 girls. She follows the painting course at the Beaux-arts in Casablanca. She marries an officer whom she follows to Dahomey (Benin). She is bored there and leaves her husband, marries Count Pierre-Henri de Mun. In Paris, she paints and exhibits, notably her martyrdom of Saint Sebastian at Saint Jean d'Angely. She took classes at La Grande Chaumière, received the Portrait of the City of Paris prize in 1971 and was listed in the Bénézit, the bible of painting, in 1978. Many exhibitions around the world. After the death of her husband, she married Jean-Henri Le Masson, writer and navigator, who unfortunately died of cancer in 2007. She retired to her house in Cortevaix, in Burgundy. In the village church is his fresco The Wedding at Cana.
