"Swiss Case In Gold And Enamel, Late Eighteenth Century"
Enameled gold needle case. The case is adorned with four oval medallions framed by a fine work of gold spangles with stylized floral friezes, scrolls and garlands surmounted by doves. These medallions stand out against a background of translucent royal blue enamel, this one framed by a net of opaque white enamel, friezes of spangles enhanced with enamel. These medallions present in the lower part of the case a young man in an ocher suit leaning against a rock and on the other side, a young woman in a white and pink dress carrying a flowered basket. This theme is repeated in the medallions of the upper part.
