"The Port Of Marseille Signed Horace Richebé"
Painting representing the port of Marseilles on the town hall side, the church of the basket and the hotel dieu signed Horace Richebé, born November 28, 1871 in Algiers and died November 14, 1958 in Nice, is a French painter. Horace Charles Richebé is the son of Gustave Léon Richebé, professor and Célestine Annonciate Diaz de Léon. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Marseille, then in Paris where he became a pupil of Jean-Léon Gérôme. He competed for the Prix de Rome in 1901. He appeared at the Colonial Exhibition of 1907 and at the Salon of French Artists in Paris, of which he became a member in 1907. He obtained an honorable mention in 1907, a third class medal in 1910, then a gold medal in 1924. In 1913, he married Elma Veysor in Marseille. He was appointed curator of the Arles1 museum. He settled permanently in Nice in 1950. He died in Nice at the age of 86. Dimensions with its original frame Length 92.5 cm Width 79 cm
