engraving with a burin, engraved by Auguste Boucher-Desnoyers (1779-1857) who was the King's first engraver in 1825 and member of the Academy of Vienna and Geneva. after a painting by Pierre Narcisse Guérin (1774-1833): Phaedrus accusing Hippolyte before Theseus (1802) now kept in the Louvre Museum. Pierre Narcisse Guérin was a painter of history and mythological compositions, neoclassical painter. He taught at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris from 1816, among his pupils in particular : Géricault, Eugène Delacroix, Ary Scheffer ...
