On the back: stamp "vente de l'atelier de l'artiste" done in 1919, lot 161.
Restored gilded frame (not original), small chip at bottom.
Jacques Martin is a well-known Lyon artist, born in 1844 and died in 1919. Belongs to the Lyon school. Regular exhibitor at the Salon des Indépendants in Paris. Works: flowers, still lifes, genre scenes. His works can be found in the Beaux-Arts museums of Digne, Lyon and Narbonne.
