Jacques Azema is with Majorelle, the one who most influenced the painting done in Marrakech. After winning the School of Decorative Arts in Paris, Jacques Azema moved to the ocher city in 1930, where he ran painting workshops and also taught at the School of Fine Arts in Casablanca. Subtly colored, his works are among the rarest, because his production was very limited.
A retrospective was dedicated to him in 2019-2020 at the Yves Saint Laurent museum in Marrakech "a poetic adventure"
