"Earthenware Sprinkler Rouen Guillibaud"
Earthenware sprinkler from Rouen Fabrique Guillibaud. Period early 18th century. Cylindrical or frustoconical (the oldest form, without pedestal) it is divided into two parts. The lid with decorated dome-shaped openings is screwed onto the body by a screw thread. The decor is in blue and red with patterns of lambrequins and flowers, typical of production in Rouen at this time. To these are added "Chinese" motifs on the dome such as butterflies as well as grids which will later become the signature of the Guillibaud factory, in particular on the edges of the plates and dishes. The underside bears the mark in blue GB. To report a small restoration at the dome. Dimensions: Diameter 9 x H 21
