Triangular in shape, engraved on 1 of its face, Deer horn gun powder flask, with Crucifixion subjet, rare cause with its complete iron frame.
The drawing depict Crucifixion, with a prior on the first ground, kneeling before the cross (it's not curently St John like on usual representation, but certainly the owner who oder the flask). It s a surprising mix between religion and layman, which happen with folk art.
The cross and Christ are framed by the Sun and the Moon.
This kind of powder flask are often attributed to Nurnberg workshops area (Germany)
This one is specially interesting regrd its incredible and very complete condition, with all its caps (spring systems with curved iron blades) but also its attachment to block the powder bottle with belt. One compartments was reserved for the black powder used to prime the hunting weapon, another larger one reserved for the gunpowder itself.
