"Naginata Japanese Samurai Japan"
Japanese naginata from the Edo period, probably the 17th century. The blade is sharp and polished, there is no signature. The tempering line is straight (suguha) and slightly damask (light itame hada). This naginata is light to handle, there is a very good balance. the shaft and the scabbard are lacquered, the scabbard is lacquered with an ipomea violacea with two Japanese heraldic symbols (kamon).
