The portrait stands out against a dark background, in shades of brown. The light is concentrated on the shoulder and the face. The expression is pensive, as if the woman had been surprised by the artist.
This subject is characteristic of the productions of the painter, who produced a large number of them. The young woman has a characteristic face from the very beginning of the 20th century.
