Subject in regulates representing a young lumberjack wiping his forehead. This work is signed André Etienne Gaudez (1845-1902), French sculptor, gold medalist at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889, whose works are sought after. The soft-haired man is dressed in loose clothes, his shirt is open and his suspenders are down. His serious face is lowered. He wipes his forehead with the back of his hand and holds his ax lowered in the other. A cut trunk is present on the ground between his feet dressed in hooves. On the terrace we find the artist's signature and on the back a stamp entitled: "Made in France - Paris". The sculpture rests on a circular wooden base.
