"Corner In Painted Wood, Spa? , 18th C."
Beautiful half-circle corner with its original polychromy, representing a scene of allegiance to a young king surrounded by helmeted and armed guards, under a canopy. Note the presence of two rows of six lions on either side of the rise of the steps. Very nice color effect even if cleaning could still revive them. SPA workshops in the Belgian Ardennes? 18th c.
