"Secret Box In Walnut"
Louis XIV period walnut secret box. Second half of the 17th century. It is carved with a gouge on four sides with diamond and rectangle patterns. The base and the lid are molded. The interior consists of a niche and a small shuttered compartment. The right side of the box slides upwards revealing two small secret drawers. The latter, once out, allow you to pull out a third drawer housed at the bottom. The fonçures are fir. The assemblies of the assembly, cabinet and drawers are dovetailed.
