"Engraving , Rembrandt, The Anatomy Lesson Of Doctor Tulp, Framed Engraving, XIX Th"
Interesting engraving after the work of Rembrandt "The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Tulp" made by the artist at the age of only 26, in 1632. On order from the guild of surgeons of Amsterdam, and in particular to Doctor Nicolaes Tulp, then authorized to perform dissections on male cadavers in public once a year, the painting was Rembrandt's first major commission. The painting is now kept in the Cabinet Royal de Peinture Mauritshuis in The Hague. Our engraving faithfully reproduces the original work of the artist. It is in good general condition, however a halo is present on the upper part of the bowl (see photos). It is presented under glass in a beautiful patinated gilt wood frame. Shipping costs Metropolitan France 20 euros, other destinations contact us. Dimensions with frame: 49.8cm x 39.8cm Dimensions at sight: 43.5cm x 33.5cm Dimensions at the bowl: 38.4cm x 31cm
