"Bronze "the Harvester" Signed E. Constant Favre - Early 20th Century"
Bronze proof with green and brown patina, signed on the embankment Maurice Constant Favre (1875-1919) and bearing a cartouche on the front of the base (Moissonneur Par Mce Constant). This French artist was noticed for his talent at the end of the 19th century, as soon as he left the fine arts. "Le Moissonneur" obtained the 2nd medal at the Paris Salon in 1907. It represents a peasant resting from his work. Testimony of his effort, he wipes his forehead with his arm after removing his round hat. Shirtless, this athletic man holds his rake against his body. A tribute to courageous field workers, this meticulously crafted work is harmonious and touching. ********* Period: Early 20th Very good condition.
