Wooden frame and gilded stucco, dimensions 52 x 41 cm. with title cartouche "Marchienne"

Prosper Galerne, painter, founding member of the Society of French Artists, was born in Patay on April 28, 1836 and died in La Ferté-Alais on August 31, 1922. Prosper Galerne was a pupil of Eugène Le Poittevin and Jean-Baptiste Henri Durand-Brager. He lived in La Ferté-Alais, where a street honors his memory. He is buried in the municipal cemetery.
