The body is engraved with the great seal of the Unites States of America which takes the form of an eagle, a scroll held within its beak bears the motto ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM’ (which translates as ’Out of many, one’). The eagle is engraved above a continuous scene of galloping men on horseback with dogs in pursuit of a deer. The base of the horn is mounted with a brass collar bearing the owners initials ‘J.B.C’.
