Large Mythological Bronze After Antoine Coysevox

Large mythological bronze from the Napoleon III period inspired by the work of Antoine Coysevox (1640-1720).
of course the signature of Coysevox and the date of 1709 engraved on the terrace are also from the Napoleon III period but the whole is extremely well done and in the spirit of the famous sculptor.
our bronze is inspired by classical mythology and we see the god Pan playing the flute accompanied by a mischievous young satyr.
the set is superb and very well elaborated in the sense that this bronze is beautiful on each side.
the details are superb and of great finesse in the details with a striking recovery of chasing.
Pan's musculature, the faces, the eyes, everything is very finely reproduced.
the original medal-colored patina is in excellent condition and is reminiscent of older bronzes.
a very beautiful bronze on a charming mythical theme.
