Pupil of Edmond Adolphe Rudaux and Gustave Morin. He began exhibiting at the Salon Des Artistes Français from 1876.
He obtained a recognition in 1882 and was then appointed curator of the "Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen".

It should also be remembered that some of his works are exhibited in various museums. 
The antique painting and the golden frame are restored.
