"Pair Of Tobacco Pots, Beauvaisis Nineteenth Century."
These two large Beauvaisis sandstone tobacco jars are adorned on each side with applied motifs, one woman snuffing and the other a man smoking. They have for grips, on each side, the head of a fantastic animal, its mouth wide open. The rest of the decoration is made up of vine shoots and vines, the brass lids have a ball handle. The large dimensions of these two pots make me think that they must have been used in a trade, both have a slight crack, a few small chips and somewhat dented lids, but all this contributes to the charm of these objects. old ones that often had to be open to serve customers. Period second half of the 19th century. Height 32 cm, width at the sockets 26 cm and diameter 20 cm.
